The Sarcasm extension implements parsing for the <sarcasm>
tags indicate when text is intended to be sarcastic. The goal is to make sarcasm through text more identifiable, which is often problematic due to the lack of non verbal communication that would normally indicate sarcasm that can result in action taken against users for incivility because their actions were misinterpreted. This extension will also hopefully facilitate wiki communities and good humor by encouraging jokes and sarcasm.
Installation
- Download and place the file(s) in a directory called
Sarcasm
in yourextensions/
folder. - Add the following code at the bottom of your LocalSettings.php
require_once "$IP/extensions/Sarcasm/Sarcasm.php";
file: - Configure the CSS class .sarcasm in MediaWiki:Common.css
Done – Navigate to Special:Version on your wiki to verify that the extension is successfully installed.
Define style
You can customize the way that sarcasm tags affect text by styling the .sarcasm
selector in the CSS pages on your wiki.
For example, add the following to your MediaWiki:Common.css to color them gray:
.sarcasm {
color: #A4A4A4;
}
