Structured Data is a new project that aims to implement structured, machine-readable data to store and retrieve information for images and media files on Wikimedia Commons and other sites. It is likely to be implemented with the Wikidata technology and Wikibase and related extensions.

The Multimedia team and the Wikidata team are planning to plan to develop this project together at some point, in collaboration with the volunteer communities on Wikimedia Commons and other projects impacted by this initiative.

Currently, all information about this project is updated on this Structured Data hub on Wikimedia Commons. Please post any comments directly on its talk page.

This page will be primarily used for Wikimedia Foundation informational purposes (e.g. project infobox or status reports).
