Google Season of Docs (GSoD) is an initiative to foster collaboration between the open source community and technical writers. Mentors and writers work together for a period of 3 months (or 6 months for long running projects) to improve their open source project's documentation. The program is typically announced in March and the writer application process begins in May/June.
The WMF's participation is overseen by Wikimedia's Developer Advocacy team.
