This project never went anywhere, but Swift was eventually deployed in 2012-08.

Feature justification

Currently we use Solaris/ZFS as the file system for media storage. We don't have a scalable, clustered media storage implementation, however and expect to exceed our capacity by the end of the year. This project will try to look at the whole strategy to design / implement a solution that will scale sufficiently for the next couple of years' projected growth.
