Glossary
Types of hackathons
- #wmhack = The large yearly Wikimedia Hackathon, where the software MediaWiki is further developed. The name #wmhack is used in this column to visually set it apart from the Wikimania Hackathon, for better readability. (See also: Definition of a Wikimedia Hackathon and Explain the differences between the Wikimedia Hackathon and the Wikimania Hackathon)
- Wikimania = The hackathon at the yearly Wikimania (usually Northern Hemisphere spring/summer), normally held as a pre-conference in the 2-3 days before actual Wikimania starts. Until 2013, they were sometimes called Developer Days, Developer Meetings or DevCamp, but since they all were hackathons before a Wikimania, they are all listed here under this name.
- DevSummit = The Wikimedia Developer Summit was an annual meeting to push the evolution of MediaWiki and other technologies supporting the Wikimedia movement.
- other = Any other hackathon event in the Wikimedia world, e.g. local hackathons.
